The patient should be made to understand that he or she must take charge of his own life. Don't take your body to the doctor as if he were a repair shop.

KEEPING YOU ALIVE

Everyone's idea of what keeps them alive is different, and there is not a single "textbook" type of answer.

What keeps you alive?

Here I am not referring to food nor to water. Here I am referried to your "joie de vivre;" your purpose in life; what gets you out of bed in the morning; what makes you smile; what puts the hop into your step. (I could find other sayings I'm sure, but I think you get the point.)

What is your passion?

Having been through it myself, finding answers to all of these questions is one way to feel 100% better everyday. No one can put that into a supplement format. There is no magic medicine for this. And guess what, feeling a sense of self-fulfillment and self-worth is one of the first steps to all healing. Don't be fooled about the power of the mind. It is just as important as the food you eat.

Some ways people find their "joie"...their joy...

  • donating their time to anything...a charity, a friend, someone who is not a friend but needs a friend, a school, raising awareness for something, etc.
  • yoga;
  • running with the wind;
  • building snowmen with their children;
  • blaring the music and dancing around the house while doing laundry, watering the plants, etc.;
  • meeting with friends regularly;
  • cooking for others;
  • building imaginary worlds through games or books;
  • HOW DO YOU FIND YOUR JOY?

    NOW GO DO IT! As often as you can. And listen closely for your whole body to say "Thank You".
